Batteries have been draining to nothing overnight and while sitting at work. I have checked everything easy and foudn nothing pulling power. After a jump, batteries will fully charge on my drive home (20 miles). Anyone had a similar instance happen to them? Any help would be appreciated.

equipment memory(stereo's,vehicle computors) should'nt draw that much voltage to light a 12vdc test light(?) those things draw very little voltage and should be measured in milli-volts. am i wrong in thinking this?

94F450SD suggested having the batts load tested. when i did mine the other day, i actually took my trk to auto zone and advance auto just to be sure...both batts. good. did this with the altenator also. i liked advance auto's equipment better, more up to date. good luck

there is no way the alt will FULLY recharge even 1 battery in 20 miles. All its doing is putting a surface charge on them which won't last. Put them on a charger at least overnight, then see how things go. If you still have a problem then have them load tested. If you don't get them all the way back up you can kiss your alt by by.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I put my charger on both batteries after getting home from work yesterday and it shut off giving me a FUL reading on the display. I didn't think they should fully charge that quickly either. Unfortunately, I can't trick the charger to charge otherwise. It reads voltage and shuts off when the batteries are fully charged. I disconnected both batteries when I got to work today and will hopefully have a charge when I get ready to leave. That will tell me more. Thanks again.

Simple fix, thank goodness. One batt was bad - replaced both and she starts like a champ. Thanks for the insight guys. Have a great weekend.
