I'm in the drilling business in Texas and we are idling drilling rigs and laying off employees faster than ever because of the huge downturn in oil & gas prices. We have a fleet of 6.4L and 6.0L diesel pickups that are going to be parked and will not be used regularly until market conditions improve. These pickups will likely sit at least 6-9 months before they return to service.

What is the best way to preserve these pickups until they return to service? Our hope is to bring them back into service with minimal problems. Is there a "stacking" procedure for the 6.4L if it is going to sit parked for months at a time? Any help would greatly be appreciated.....

1. Change oil and filter.
2. Drain water separator.
3. Top off fuel tanks.
4. Disconnect batteries.
