The other day I parked my truck and set the parking brake. when I went to release it, the pedal would not release. I had to go underneath and cut the cable with a hacksaw (no easy task). anybody had this happen??? what did you do (read as, how do I fix)?

After I put on a new E-Brake pedal assembly my cable popped out of the holder nearest the release handle, just make sure everything under the dash looks good.

Emergency Brake Pedal Went to the Floor

I was getting ready to jack my 2002 F-250 to work on the front end. I pushed a little extra hard on the emergency brake pedal to help secure the truck while on the jack. The cable snapped when I was pushing on the foot pedal and the pedal went to the floor. I'm driving around now like a proud ******* with a bungee cord wrapped around the steering column to hold up the pedal.

I found it easy to cut the broken cable with a pair of lineman's pliers.

How difficult was the job replacing the front cable?
