Has anyone else had the passenger seatbelt keep ratcheting in...so that eventually the passenger has to release the seatbelt and pull it out to reposition it to keep from being 'embedded' in the seat. Is there any way to adjust the ratcheting portion of the seatbelt or will I have to get a replacement assembly?

I agree. The seatbelt on the passenger side in the back seat does this. All of the other belts are fine.
Someone please help!

It's not a bug, it's a feature. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you pull the seatbelt in any position except driver's seat all the way out, it will activate a ratchet that prevents the belt from extending further once partially retracted. It resets when the belt is fully retracted. This is on purpose -- the intent is to lock the belt for retaining a child seat.

Solution: don't pull the belt out all the way.

This feature, by the way, is described in the owner's manual.

Or buy a Crew Cab truck! We don't get the neat-o airbag off switch, but we don't have to put up with this feature either (unless you are sitting in the back seat)... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Don't know about your CC, but mine has the feature on the front passenger seatbelt. I have a "stout" work colleague who's encountered it a few times when we're going to lunch.

I'm gonna try not pulling it all the way out and see if it really works. ( maybe I can put the clothes pin away)

Beg to differ....
use the pull all the way out to ratchet feature to lock in the car seat...
this also happens periodically to me - it will eventually cut off your breathing as it contracts and won't let your chest expand to breathe !!!

Reported it to dealer....
but same deer in the headlights stupid look as on other issues !

need a new dealer here in DFW !
