"Hard" is a relative term. Most would consider it fairly simple. Unplug the PCM wiring harness after removing one screw in the engine compartment down low on the firewall. Then remove two more screws under the dash behind the emergency brake pedal. Then just jiggle things until the cover comes off the PCM and you can pull the PCM out from under the dash.

But I have one good hand, and I hate standing on my head in tight places. So I pay my dealer's tech to do such gymnastics. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/warmsmile.gif

I was able to do it in about 10-15 minutes. The hardest thing for me was figuring out where to put the selector...Then there was the problem of no set screw for the knob. But Jody sent one out REALLY quick and no more probs...Easy out and easy in...just remember the tension clip on the inside of the PCM cover /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Yes it was my first time... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gifBut I bought a reflashed PCM with a 4 position chip from Jody.(I save my original for trips to the stealer) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif The PCM he sends you will have a cable/wire coming out from the back of it. This cable/wire is attached to your 4 or 6 position selector (whichever you chose). Then you have to mount that selector on your truck (I mounted mine as recommended, under the fuse panel) Then you attach the knob to the selector and tighten the set screw.

You can also just have him reflash your chip, (but down time with your truck because you have to send in the PCM.) There are a bunch of options, all which can be discussed with him.
