Recently did muffler delete and since then I have noticed the truck at idle changes pitch. It will start up and sound real throaty and then the rumble goes away and then it will start to whistle and then it will go back to sounding throaty, has anyone experienced this. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Its your turbo. The vanes are adjusting to maximize the backpressure. If the truck is warm, it will usally have a rushing wind sound for a few seconds and then it will turn to a growl. If its cold, you will hear that shop vac noise untill its warm enough typically. Personally, I love it. Sets the truck out from the rest. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If the whistle completly stops..or the whooshing..whichever you prefer to call it...you are headed for issues.

Mine did that...it would whistle for a second..then stop and sound like a big block. It actually sounded really good.
Bad thing was..I couldn't make over 6 PSI when driving. It would make 25 or so with a tune in for some reason..but take the tune out and it barely moved.

I'd keep a close ear on it if I was you.

That is exactly what mine is doing however, I am still able to get 25 psi of boost...

Hmmmm, that sounds backwards from normal. When you first start it up, it should sound "louder" as in a rumble, until the oil presure comes up, then get quieter. If it's going back and forth, it sounds like EP and or EGR.

Mine needs to go in again for the EP issue so I have some things unplugged, but it will sometimes still go from the throaty rumble to normal idle while sitting at idle. Since you deleted the muffler it should be much more noticable.

It does start with a throaty tone then it gets quiet, accompanied by a little whistle and a fast rush sound, and then sometimes the throaty sound will come back depending on how long it sits at idle which is usually never any longer than 5 min.
