OK i kinda forgot about this problem, but i have about 1 1/2 inc play in my steering wheel ONLY on the left side if i turn right it is prity tight but the left has about an inc or so of Play, i had it Aligned and checked the ball joints.. When i got under the truck i had a friend move the wheel left and right over and over all the joints look great but i can see the steering shaft go into the steering box and i can see the play going into the box but not coming out of it so i am guessing that it is the box how do i fix it ? is this normal to have play ONLY on one side ?

the play is in the box and if u think it's only one side it's cause the wheel isn't centered loosen the nut on the steering box and tighten the allen , test often as you don't want to go to far , mine was a total of three turns :icon_rolleyes: it's a little hard to do as u need to hold the wrench as u turn the Allen, I made a 1foot extension for my Allen to help

what happens if you go to far? what dose the turning of the allen screw do ? dose it move the free play left to right or dose it tighten the gears or somthing ?

clockwise to tighten too tight will bind it you just need to test drive a few times
there is no left right looseness it just moves the gears closer
