Looks like that's the problem, and I've got a 2000 mile trip to make on Wednesday so I'd like to take care of this now and not on the side of the road. I can't even see any darn bolts that hold the thing on though? Mine had the shock absorber type thing on it for what it's worth.

I'm looking through the archives and see people using vaseline and stuff on the belt, but, if my tensioner or idler is bad, that's not going to help me from being stranded. I don't know if it's just a noise, or if something is actually wrong.

Reverse thread on the tensioner...that's cute.

Wonder if the idler is the same way (the bottom one)...I can't get any leverage on it.

Dave I don't know much about the shock type but on mine the bolt that holds the tensioner on, was right hand thread. Be aware of the position of the pulley before you remove the belt. I didn't get mine correctly installed and the bolt broke about 1,000 miles later. Good Luck. Russ
