I have an '08 F350 SuperCab, Long Bed, 4 wheel drive with 3.73 Limited slip rear end. In 2 wheel drive it has horrible traction in the snow. It has trouble getting out of its own way. 4 wheel drive is much better but still not great. The tires are the original Continental (18") with about 25K miles. (Not worn bad at all). I had a '97 F250 7.3L with a limited slip rear end and it had much better traction in the snow..even with bad tires.
Any ideas or is this something I need to get used to.

add weight to the bed, air down, or just use 4wd

Adding weight to the bed like stymie said makes a night and day difference. I always head down to the local water company and get some free sandbags before I head up to the high country...

I have also noticed that adding a little weight in my old 03, helped it ride smoother as well as help with traction.

Those Continental's REALLY suck in the snow. My truck and tires were new last winter (I'm in Canada, so yeh we get SNOW) and the truck was horrible in 2WD. I bought winter tires for the first time in my life a few weeks ago, and it drives like a completely different truck in 2WD now. I think even a decent A/T tire would be better. I went with winter tires simply because the truck was so bad on snow and ice.
