So i have a 2001 Ford F250 7.3 automatic. I have a a 1997 F350 with a blown 7.3 sitting in my yard. Can i pull the E40D out of it and put it in my 2001 since they are very similar transmissions?

It will bolt right in. It won't work, but it will bolt in. The E4OD is missing two speed sensors that your 2001 truck needs to make the trans shift.
