I found a loose battery connection on my 00 excursion with 138k. Tighten it and thought it would have stopped my electric problems. I was wrong. The first thing was the air vents would not chnage, they were stuck in the defrost position. It would still turn off and blow hot and cool air, just only in one position. I went about 150 miles and it started working again. Next morning, turn the key wait to start flickered and everything was dead. I tried 2 more times and nothing. Magic number 3 and she was fine. Since then it has been a little hard to start and I'm having the power (electric) issue every few times. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I had the same problem with my 99 SD, turns out it was actually a vacuum line that controls the little vent diverters ( this same line also engages your 4 wheel drive if so equipped). replace the wannabe a vaccuum line with a peice of rubber fuel line and it should take care of the diverters, as far as the electrical it could be one of many different solutions.
