Is it possible to add power fold tow mirrors to my 2001? Is there even such a mirror available? How complex to wire up?

Shame nobody responded...my 2008 has ford oem power folding mirrors so they are out there but super expensive (like $700 a side). I would imagine if you already have the tow mirrors then you have what you need except for a fold switch and the extension switch (makes the mirrors slide out to tow position). Since the doors haven't changed design over the years i suspect the mounting holes haven't either... Visit you local junk yard and see if you can find a set. Install them and then let us know how you make out. You will be the pioneer... :)

Any Super duty thru 05 should bolt right up. After 05 I am told there are some issues. THe wire plugs vary and you may need to solder matching plug ends on. I am going to add standard Power Mirrors to mine as soon as I catch up. The paddles just do not cut it at all. I found some peal and stick LED signals I can add to the side for the turn signal feature I already have and I will loose the heat. Then again I have never used heated mirrors nor seen the benefit JMHO. I insist on using the power adjust but for the few times I tow I can pull out the mirrors and push them back manually. I have become very accustomed to the signals but it is too easy to add them.

I was just hoping to get a power fold feature, but in my searching it's going to be a budget buster even trying. My garage door is too narrow, and requires the mirrors folded in just to get in and out of the garage. So I have to stop, get out, and manually fold the mirrors, get back in and drive into the garage. Lot's of folding and unfolding.

Haaaaa.....I had a norrow garage too....I took a golf club, taped it up and used it to grab the mirror, never scratched it. I used a hockey stick too but the golf club worked and was smaller. Mine evolved over time, it really works but pushing it out was sketchy, I never broke the glass but I moved it a few times. I made a kind of tape ball to hook the top or side and push it out.

Hmmm, now there's something worth looking into!! Any pix of this unique tool?

I have wanted to ditch my paddle mirrors ever since I got my Ex in 2007. Then I saw one with the 2008+ power folding type. Uber expensive so wait. But look at these.

And the price... $424.95 a pair. Unless these are junk cheap this looks like an option. I will research the seller before buying but has anyone else seen these?

I bought them and am very impressed. I have un-boxed and examined them and they are high quality and heavy. The wiring looks complete from what I can see without digging into the truck. The truck is at a shop getting the hail damage fixed and an ARB Bull Bar added to the front. When I get it back I will get these on and report. It looks turn key if all the plugs work. I'll just have to mount the switch for power folding and run the wire to the right side unit and power plus ground.

Are they power fold, and what is the part number?

If you guys would like to reply back with the year, make model of your truck, I can reply back with a link to tow mirrors that would fit your truck. Also state whether you currently have the power fold option or would like to add it on.

Almost anything can be added. I put hidden turn signals, heat, memory, puddle lamps, & off-road lights on my Bronco's factory power mirrors.

Mine is a 2001 Excursion with standard tow mirrors. I'd like information on adding power fold tow mirrors.

I still love these mirrors and the customer service. The switch that activates them had a problem when I got it and they sent me a whole new wiring harness. They look factory and work great. I would buy again in a moment. Their web site is pretty good from what I remember. I had to ask if the units extended manually, they told me that they do and updated the web page to reflect that.
