In preparation for removing the power steering pump, I was reading the procedure in the shop manual and it mentions removing the power steering pump pulley and then the pump. It also mentions it may be necessary to remove the fan shroud to allow for proper installation and operation of the power steering pump pulley remover tool. Is this true? Just want to make sure I have the necessary tools available for the project.

I have the snap on puller and it fit without pulling the shroud. The mounting bolt(s) are behind the pulley. Can't remove them all with the pulley on. They just back up until they hit the pulley.

Exactly...You DO need to take the pulley off FIRST, otherwise the bolts will cannot back all the way out. The puller I have fits without pulling the shroud as well...I'll see if I can find a pic and post it.

Good Luck!
