The power steering pump on my '02 PSD developed a leak. There's a large crack on the plastic reservoir housing just next to where the low pressure line attaches. The truck now has over 280,000 miles so I'm wondering if I should also change the high pressure line and the low pressure line while I'm in there. I plan on driving this truck at least another 300,000 miles so it's a matter of now or later.

Any tricks to the power steering pump swap? Pulley R&R?

I want to add an in-line filter. Is that done on the return line? Just cut the line and attach with hose clamps?

That's what I did. Worked on my 99' GMC, my 02' F-250, and my wife's Honda Pilot.

I just used the borrow a tool service at the parts house for the pully puller. I would go ahead and change out the lines while you are working on it. My dads line blew out at the ranch a few months back and I had to pick one up and go out and replace it. I ended up replacing the pump and pully all at the same time because he felt like he was going to be keeping the truck and figured why not replace it now instead of later. His truck had about 230k on it at the time.
