Hey guys,

I just picked up my new 2020 F-450, and I'm trying to decide between a manual versus power retractable cover with the grooves on the side so I can mount a rack for bikes, etc. Does anyone have any experience with both or comments one way or the other? The only power one I can find that will work on the 8' bed is the Pace-Edwards (Lund - Leer) Ultragroove Electric: UltraGroove Electric by Pace Edwards | Pace Edwards

The most common other option would be the Retrax Manual Retraxpro XR: RetraxPRO XR - Rack Integrated | Retrax Retractable Truck Bed Covers

Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated, and if there's some other makes/models I should look at too would be great. Thanks in advance for the help,

Chris

I'm pretty happy with my BAK revolver, but it rolls up and does not retract. But it seems like it is pretty well made. They make a retractable, but I don't know that you can also add a bike rack in addition.

Ironically, I got mine from the local Line-X dealer. They had the best price so something you may at least consider.

One consideration is how often you expect to retract the bed cover. I don't have any experience with either kind, but how hard is it to open a manual cover? What happens if your electric cover malfunctions?

My question is why have one of a F450? This truck is made to work hauling a trailer.

I would look at one that is the easiest to work with when you have your trailer hooked up or are bikes all you are hauling?
