Premium wheels???

The Ford "Premium wheels" that came with my 2oo8 F350 fx4 have developed a serious problem. The PLASTIC wheel covers that are attached to the steel wheels are falling off. NO DAMAGE was ever done to the wheels. The tape that is used to attach the wheel covers is failing! 1 cover has already fallen off while the other 3 can be easily pulled off using my finger tips. As usual, Ford doesn't want to know anything about this. All the dealer & Ford corperate say is
"ITS OUT OF THE 3/36000 WARRANTY".

I am worried about one/all of these covers flying off while driving & hitting someone walking down the street.

Anyone else with this problem? Any & all help is appreciated!
