fuel pump may be in tank but filter is on top of engine in front..in process of changing mine and o-rings in drain valve..check FAQ

What???? I thought the fuel pump is on one of the beams? At least mine was. There is a mixing valve with some screens or filters so debris doesn't go to the pump. HOWEVER, if that clogs up, you are SOL. The way things are, they will clog up when you are in the middle of BFE and you have to drop the tank to get at them. This is why the ITP In Tank Kit comes with a pre pump filter. After the pump there is another filter in the engine compartment.
