HPOP = high pressure oil pump.
ICP = injection control pressure.
WOT = wide open throttle.

A list of common acronyms is at the top of the page in the news,comments and suggestions area ....R

Sounds like it may be a bad program and dumping too much fuel in. It's blowing blue smoke at idle? And it only does it on the 120 setting?

Ok... I just put a 120HP Bully Dog tunner in. everything works fine on 50hp and 75hp but when i put it on 120hp it worked fine for like 5 mins then it started running rough and smoking blue smoke. what could be doing this?

Have you double checked that you cleaned the contacts well enough when you installed the chip? That is the first/cheapest thing to check.

I took the addition of a tunner as a hand held programmer or tuner.
I may be wrong.

I wouldn't recommend cleaning/scratching off the coating if any in the OBD port...R

I could've swore he said 6-pos somewhere. lol

Disregard what I said unless it is a chip that plugs into the PCM.

IMO, Blue or blue/white smoke is normal when engine is cold or idling for extended periods.

Excessive blue smoke can be caused by air in the fuel, insufficient fuel, contaminated fuel, also faulty injectors and or O-rings or burning oil.

Sometimes faulty PCM inputs such as MAP or ICP sensors or systems may cause blue smoke.

Sometimes in cold climates a thermostat stuck open (insufficient heat for combustion) can be a cause.

Or it could simply be poor programming. The poor idle and blue smoke would concern me enough not to use it, at least that setting....R

Call bulydawg and ask them, the answer they give should be amusing.

I thought it was a chip also /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif From what I have been hearing from The B-Dog dealer I deal with the downloaders are junk and have nothing but problems with the monitor/downloader interface. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif

I am not sure about junk, used mine for about a year and had no problems with the 120 hp program. Tell you the truth got about 1 mpg better than my DP tuner 6 pos chip with the 80 econo burn. Bully Dogs 120 hp program equaled or maybe exceeds the 80 hp DP Tuner program, but not DP's 120 program. The DP tuner programs are definitely smoother as far as the shift points. The 120 bullydog could easily set the SES light off when hit hard, my guess low HPOP, but so does DP tuner's 120 program. But I don't see anymore smoke with the bully dog tuner than with DP's tunes. 120 hp DP tune can smoke more than 120 bully dog program.
