Well, after many days of deliberation, there will soon be another sled pulling truck coming out of IA.

Here are some details, and if the "sleeper" wants to chime in, he can.

*DI GT42 kit
*DI EDM tip "mini me's"
*DI air to air
*four pos chip
*AFE II
tranny is already done

maybe some lockers

Customer wanted to have a reliable package that could still compete and not burn up his motor until he does the major build this fall. So we'll use his stock forged rods and detune it some to live (maybe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif) for now. We all know how that goes.

He originally had a bunch of other parts picked out, but decided a package approach to his ultimate goal of 500 RWHP on #2 was the best money spent in the long run. He also wanted to get by with stock HPOP for now, so we'll see how that goes, and I am sure this site can offer some recommendatons.....Stay tuned....Candy Venom has a roomate! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

Thats sweet man, what kind of lockers is he running. How do the ARB air lockers hold up, if you have tried them? I had a detroit in my old truck and after 100K of racing it started shaving metal and had a 1/4 slop in it lol.

I have experience with ARB's but not in a diesel. I have used them in a CJ 7 with a 396 CI motor and 44's. It held up really well on that motor and tires...but obviosly that is not as much power and weight as a diesel.

Awesome, and I seen the pics of the truck you posted it's a nice looking rig to boot. I hope the 3 of them play nice together. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Still thinking name about names for the truck, my girlfriend wants to name it "The Favorite". We'll see about DHRA pull's hope to make a few, but I'll be mostly pulling locally. As of now Freddy's got me talked into True Trac in the front and a locker for the rear. This will be a daily driver and expected to tow as well.

The transmission has run great i've had mine since October last year, nice firm shifts and the converter locks extremelly well. Stay Tuned I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures and video's on they way.

almost forgot the blackwidow tranny is real afordable and reliable, Brian will have more details for you. As for another fat kid I'm sorry I'm about as skinny as a guy with a similar package, I'm sure everyone knows what kind of power hes putting down.

Ho do lockers do in the front diff for drag racing? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

For a puller, we'd recommend ARB if the customer has it in the budget. Otherwise a Detroit style for the rear, and electric locker front if available.
The great the about ARB air lockers is they can be unlocked with a flip of a switch.

A locker at the top end of the drag strip in the front is a handfull-I have used my ARB's at 109 MPH with no issues.

We will be working with IH1206 to get a more aggressive name-"favorite" just doesn't make me worry about getting beat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Names are still gettin thrown around. I'm thinking about sticking with the color theme, maybe paint the truck purple and call it "Rasberry Beret" ; -just a hair more agressive

I had a pump ordered that wasnt out yet, and decided that i wanted to make some power with proven parts. To keep up with the D-Maxes I chose go with parts that work well togeather and will let me go as far as the rods will let me.

I want to thank Dave and Nate for "peace of mind" pullin parts. Another thanks to Brian and Kevin at Blackwidow.

These guys are pro's and easy to work with!

What all are you doing for the trannies Brian? If you don't want to post, PM me. I'm kind of interested and might have to make a trip back home to Iowa for it. Man I miss it there, PA sucks. It'd also give me an excuse to stop by my friends place up in Center Point.
