On a couple of occasions, I've experienced a momentary hesitation or rough acceleration as the turbo begins spooling up. As this is happening I also see a puff of white smoke out the exhaust but as it clears up on acceleration it turns dark. This has happened after the engine is warm and I have shutdown and restarted the engine. If I let it sit for a couple of hours and then restart, the hesitation and rough acceleration goes away and everything seems normal.

Any ideas as to what is causing this intermittent problem? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Thanks for any input.

Sounds to me like the EGR valve is sticking. Bring her in to the shop and have them check it out. While its there get the new ebp sensor and have them run the vin for the wire chaff recall that came out today. mine did the same thing. stuck egr valve. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Thanks captpn, that's what I was thinking (EGR). I appreciate the feedback.

Does the wire chafe problem/recall pertain to the 05's as well?

Have the unit flashed to the latest calibration at the same time. There are changes to the EGR and injector strategies.
