A drag racing motor is desighned to start at teh bottom (stop lower rpm) and build or increase power forward. (in other words you want a broad power curve from down low to up high)
a pulling motor does not care about bottom end. You leave the line at or near the upper rpm's (espically on a manual tranny) You quickly reach max rpm's and hold thier and let the sled drag you back into the power curve. And hope you have run out of traction before you get below the power curve. This is why sled pullers run alot bigger charger then the street/drag guys.
