Question about tow/haul mode.

How much weight should I be towing in order to use tow/haul mode? I figure I would use it to tow my boat (6000 lbs) but do I need it to tow my Seadoos? Two of them with a trailer weigh about 1500 lbs.

I towed a 2500 lb 91 Geo Tracker behind mine 420 miles, and using Towhaul did make a noticable difference.
