Hey,

I Just bought a TS Performance 6 pos chip from black cloud diesel and have been somewhat dissapointed.

As you can see by my sig, I had a simple 4-pos bully dog chip. It had nice power in the 50 hp seting and would accelerate well no matter what the engine rpm was.

I bought a TS with the following settings: Hi idle, stock, 50, 75, 125, fuel 7 (140).

I have had Two issues:
1.) when I kick it into fuel 7, it rattles more. Sounds cool /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif but am wondering about the long term consequences of this operation /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif. I would like to truck pull in this setting, but dont want a hole in the side of the block on my daily driver!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

2.) The 50 & 75 horse settings are worthless unless 1,700 rpms+ are maintained. It pulls harder ON THE STOCK SETTING OUT OF A CORNER!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif On my bully dog, I had much better power at the lower rpm levels on these settings. When in these settings, its a dead peddle feeling untill 1700 rpm...THEN IT GOES LIKE HECK. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif I dont think this will be very usefull for towing either.

I cleaned my contacts twice and they are as clean as i can get them. Do I have a bum chip, switch, etc?

I would hope that a chip that cost TWICE /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif as much as my last would perform at least as well!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Send it back and get a custom built Dp-tuner chip.

This sound is very bad for your injectors/engine!!!!

It means too much timing advance!

The fuel 7 (or140) is very noisy. I don't use that very often. With the stock turbo it is too much fuel for the engine. I believe the advance is what is so noisy. As far as the throttle lag up to 1700 or so, This was a problem I HAD also. We have very similar trucks and the same chip programs.
Contact Dennis at TS. He programmed more of what he called "throttle tip in" (like the fuel 7 or a superchips.) Once we discussed this he programmed my chip and it is positively awesome. It pulls very cleanly and strong at all speeds now. Talk to him and let him make you happy. When I first recieved it I was very disappointed. He has excellent customer service and took care of everything quickly and professionally. I am now a very happy customer.

I want to clear something up right away. After I thought about my previous post, I want to say that Garrett At Black Cloud Diesel is one fo the best people I have ever bought stuff off of.

He called me within 15 minutes of my post!!!!!

I also feel that I made it sound really bad for Black Clouds and TS's products. THE TRUTH IS TOTALLY OPPOSITE!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Everyone should try out Garrett and Black Cloud. You will never have better customer service!

I also had some probs with my TS chip but it is only the 4 pos, it was the switch and they replaced it right away and handled my prob. great.

Just a little input too I am at 6000ft and i had them max that chip out with everything you can have on the fuel 7. (almost breaks your neck when it shifts) I really like eco. and tow but I have bad egt probs in fuel 7 and some bad rattle too(but i still love it). I have a water/meth kit comming to cool them down. I can't get near enough air up here and that is the prob with me I might have the fuel detuned in the future.

I too have the same exact performance quirks with my ts 6pos. Sqidget(dave)do you have the number for Dennis? I'd like to talk to him and see if he can work with me on making it better. Can you reprogram a chip once it has been programed or do you have to start from scratch? Thanks Kurt
