I am putting new injectors in, in the next couple of months. Was planning on going with stg II's but was a little concearned they would get too hot pulling. I have an intercooler but will pull up to 14K several times a year over a very steep hill, I can hit 1300* stock w/out intercooler. Most likely will be getting a D66 turbo soon as well. Can the stg II's be detuned enough while towing and not have any injector damage? (heard that can happen??) Are stg 1's the best if I am towing that heavy? Most towing is 6K but usually between 6000-10000ft. I did find an awesome deal on stgIII's not hybrids whatever that means?? Are they just way too much fuel?
Any input will be apreciated.
Thanks

Well, from my experience, I tow around 10K frequently with my 2.5's and have to work to get the EGT's over 1300.

I would suggest you go with some new B codes, or small stage 2's. The egt's are easily controllable with your right foot and appropriate gear selection. If things start getting too hot, drop it down a gear and keep the rpm around 2000-3000.

the other issue is HPO. I run out of hpo with my babies???????????? If you went to stage II or III's I would guess you would run out even quicker.

Thanks. What size are 2.5's? 200cc's???or so.When you say "B" code all I can find is the 260cc variety(too big) or are you talking AB code. I thought all stg II's were 160cc's no small or large. How do you like your ATS turbo? I have heard a complaint or two about egt's towing from guys with 2's but have wondered if they had an intercooler or not. My concern is I want all the power but I want to be able to use it; I can't hardly go 5 miles from home without going up some really steep hill.

Thanks Mark but I will upgrade my HPOP but mine only has 90K on it so I will see how she does first.

My Stage 2's run hot. If I'm in the throttle much at all the needle heads for the red in a hurry. I'm running stock hpop, turbo, and no intercooler. All of those and some scaled back tuning would more than make them good for towing.

You will need a few upgrades with 2's, a TW chip, a new trans..BTS or JW, and a fuel system upgrade.
2's will work fine for towing but you need to keep the rpms above 2k and also keep the boost up when you hit big hills. I can still hit way over 1400* if I don't follow these rules. I drive with one eye on the pyro and the other for the man when I'm pulling...passing everything!

Thanks guys. I will be getting a TW chip to go along with the sticks and new tranny also. I will probably go with the 2's. I have 3:55's so I can go 75 in "D" so the rpm's shouldn't be too hard to control.
Is the main difference between 1's and 2's just that you can get more power down low with the 2's due to the larger nozels that is what I understand anyway??
