Hello all, A few months ago I posted no start when hot. I got the response IP pump. It happened again and the cargo I was carrying weren't too happy about waiting 30 minutes to get going. I am going to be doing this myself so I have some questions:
1. Trusted source for pump. This will be 3rd pump in 50K.
2. Detailed write-up procedure.
3. Tools and source. I think I am good except for I need a source for bent wrench and timing device.
4. Since I am this far I would like to replace return hoses and o rings. Source.
Is there anything else I need to prep for?
If I buy the timing device, what do I need to do to set fuel? Thank-you, Nick

nick I just finished my R&R on the 4th check my posts. If you stay with it & no problems like I ran into maybe 2-3 hours labor if I do it again a ratcheting OPEN END WRENCH for the IP nuts & I'd drain the rad enough to pull the upper hose to make things easier to get to. Flare nut wrenches for the fuel lines otherwise just normal hand tools plus a 1/4" drive ratchet was handy for the 3 bolts that hold the pump to the drive gear 5/16" 16 point socket do not drop these bolts repeat do not drop. if you need to rotate the motor pull the gp's at least way easier to turn over & you can feel if something is sticking before it breaks. tighten up all the fuel line to pump fittings off the truck b/c once its on you wont be able to get the lower ones tight. on the throttle cable mount bolts don't put them back until the pump is in mine wouldn't go until i pulled them back out its that tight.
