Hey Guys, i am going to go out on a limb here and hope there are some people running 2m radios in there trucks, I just got a radio for my truck and it works fine until i turn the ignition on. as soon as it turns on i lose any signal i had and all i get is static. does anyone know what i need to do to fix this ?

i would look at all the connections for the radio . make sure theres no bare connections, it sounds like you're getting background noise ,maybe from the alt. that would be where i would start. easiest first.

I forgot tto mention that I is a hand heldradio so it is swlf contained

does it happen in other vehicles or just you'res ? if it's just you're vehicle then you have to start checking things out , like does it matter if the truck radio is on or off , check batteries to see if connections are tight ,alt, anything that is electrical that is on when the truck is running . good luck .

ok i will have a look and see i know it doesn't matter when the stereo is on or off, i can have it in ACCY and it is fine. I am getting my new turbo installed tomorrow i will ask my mechanic if he knows . he has worked on forestry vehicles with 2m radios in them thanks for all the help
