rear end noise help

I have been trying to locate a driveline noise but so far havenot. what are the best method or any ideas what to check next. Thought it was a carrier bearing but bearing is fine. this noise only happenes when the car is moving above 15 mph whines pretty good at speed. Pinion bearing? can a person hear this and how often do they go out?Thanks for any input
