dont know how to change it but i am guessing you pull the tranny and flexplate. then what?

also does this sound right. turbo is not leaking and as far as i can tell nothing on the back of the motor but i have some dropps come out of the plate that connects the engine to tranny(the one you can take off and see your torque converter)

If for certain the turbo and galley plugs are not leaking, and your sure that it isnt fuel mixing w/ oil and grime then yes, your rear main is prolly the culprit. The tranny and plate must come down. Have the replacement seal and wear ring on hand w/ the correct RTV. This is the perfect time to inspect the up pipe seals (donuts) and install a down pipe. When you get to the rear main it will be obvious what to do. Have a sharp box cutter but be careful on the edges of the oil pan not to cut too deep or too much. To remove the old wear ring I used a die grinder w/ a rotary file attached but that was with my engine out. You will have to fashion something up to cut it off. To press on the new one, I cut a piece steel and drilled two holes the same dimensions as the tapped holes on the end of the crank and used the steel bar as a strongback and utilized the holes w/ an assortment of lengths of screws/washers. Draw down the ring till its flush w/ the crank. Sorry so long, hopefully not confusing.

there was some fuel back there but it was not coming from the vally or the fuel lines that go into the head (all i can think of is a few days earlier when i thought i was going to pull the motor i slid the fuel line take off tool into the fuel lines by the oil filter but never got it apart then i scrapped the pulling the engine idea and maybe i didnt lock the fuel lines back together tight enough and it ended up spraying the oil cooler, that plate and so on and with the whole engine covered from the front main leaking oil probly started running down all over. ill fix the front main then clean and wait to see if it leaks fro sure)

up pipes doughnuts are replaced and tight and im a little beyond the downpipe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
