Installed the rear swaybar yesterday.

Using this as a go by from Bruce's install, it was pretty much cut and dry. Welded the 8" arms, broke out the plasma cutter and notched the pass side shock mount.

Only problem is I can hear the swaybar in the rear. The front swaybar bushing are worn out in the front, I have the energy suspensions kit to replace them, but the rear swaybar sounds almost as bad. It's not a hard clunking, but I do notice the NVH(noise, vibration, harshness) when I hit a bump in the rear.

My question is for people with rear swaybars, is this normal. I checked the bolts to make sure they were tight, I torque the bejesus out of them, they won't turn anymore, they are tight as can be. I suspect this "new" noise is just part of the cost of having a rear swaybar since the bolt passed thru the frame and will inevitably touch the frame when you hit a bump no matter how tight you have the bolt.

Maybe I will buy a bunch of sound deadner and turn the radio up loud. The front bushings making noise drive me nuts, and to have the rear doing it as well, I now have surround sound going on.

I am going to install a new rear swaybar on my 2006 F350 4x4 crew cab diesel. When I bought it brand new (with the tow package), I did not pay to much attention that it did not have a swaybar. I just checked that it had the rear helper spring.
I got the swaybar from an 2001, F350 4x4. It turns out that it can't fit on my truck because in 2004 ford flipped the location of the right rear shock from the back to the front, so this interferes with the way the sway bar was installed in the 2001. So I checked a 2006 truck and noticed that the sway bar looks the same, but its installed a little different. The U bolts and brackets are rotated up on the axle to avoid causing interference with the right shock absorber. Now I need to make a hole on the U bracket (not U bolt) to make it fit on its new shifted location, and I am waiting for the new D bushings. The old was were worn out. I wonder if that is why you are having noise problems. The bar is 1 1/4" and the rubber bushings car wear out and cause noise. I am thinking that if I put some kind of lubricant between the bushings and the bar it may help.... I don't know yet what kind of grease should be used... ?
does your bar hit any metal parts? it should not, even if the truck is load it.
