mine was indifferent, couldn't feel a change. Fresh oil change made bigger difference in performance. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

I do not notice a difference at all in performance. On the olus side, my 05 no longer smokes at start up.

Mine seems to be a bit quieter and smoother. No anything that you can put an exact finger on, but just different, for the better. May be a coincidence but I started haveing an occassional 3-4 shift flare.

Mine ran like crap eversince. It finally gave the scenario of TSB06-3-8 and blew coolant out of the degas bottle. It then hydrolocked and was denied warranty at 81000 miles.

Mine just came back from the dealer. Besides some other things they did, my "concern" of the 2nd failed EP (and all the weird things it does to the EGR and the loud/quiet etc.) was not documented on the ticket and the SA wanted me to talk to the tech about it.

Got in and right off noticed it was running smoother (sound), started smoother too. So far performance is about the same as far as I can tell also. Got home and discovered it was indeed flashed. So far so good although, the later '04's are included in the recall yet. I'm sure the reflash is it, just no recall yet.

They also replaced the EGR with the new style since what they put in last time (recall last summer) was the old style. The new one is supposed to operate better and be less prone to goop build up. Also replaced the EGR cooler thinking that may be what was causing mine to splatter coolant. I mean splatter as in it was sitting just at the LOW line on the bottle and that loss took almost a year to do.

Where would I find out if my truck needs this or any other update besides my dealer?

Had mine done this week. Have noticed less turbo lag, it almost reacts like a gasser. The other ting noticed is better mileage on the highway. I made a trip before the flash and averaged 20.5 mpg(avg 62 mph, 1750 rpm, mostly highway with a few small towns sprinkled in). I made the same trip, same speed and rpm and the mpg averaged 23.3. I looked at the mpg computer on the dashboard and I even noticed it get to 24 mpg before I got to my first small town. I am very please I had this done... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
