I am looking at regearing (replacing complete axles) my truck from 3.73:1 to 4.88:1 and wondering if any transmission programming will be necessary to make it run and drive right. I know the speedo will be off but does anyone know if there will be problems with shifting?

No programming needed.

If you keep close to stock tire I wouldn't go 4:88. 4:10 or 4:56 will be plenty of power. I have 4:88 but it only to compensate for the 37" tire

I support, like I said, no programming needed for changing gear ratio.

I charged mine out to 4:56's and haul a 18k+ toy hauler, seems to do fine, I did it to help the tranny mostly.
