well the whole, truck not starting is getting old...
finally goin to get new wires and new terminals for the batteries. I'd also like to relocate the two starter batteries and mount a deep cell in the engine bay. i'd like to relocate the starter batteries inside the cab... health issue?
Thanks!

ok...
i need to replace battery terminals and wires cause i'm still having major starting issues and i suspect those are the culprit. i'd also like to mount one possibly two deep cell's in the engine bay to power the gp's, fuel pump, and many fuel heaters for alt fuels. so to keep batteries located closest to where they're needed i'd like to move the starting batteries and hopefully only one but maybe two deep cells under the hood.
im out of room under the hood as it is cause of my snow plow pump.

Why not just put the aux. battery in the cab? I'd think it would be cheaper to get original style battery cables than to have to get custom made ones. And it would keep the dog house from getting cluttered with wires and such.

yeah... thanks guys i'm scratching this idea... going to relocate my snow pump inside the cab and relocate my coolant resivor to the drivetrside of the radiator. kinda like the powerstrokes but on the opposite side. that will gimme room for (if needed) two deep cells.
Thanks!

For in cab batteries they would have to be vented to the out side. If you didn't, and smoke, while lighting a cig, you may find yourself flying a short distance . Batteries generate a gas while charging, (hydrogen) I think. Highly explosive. The batteries (in cab) if you put them there, should be in battery boxes with vents to outside similar to RV installations.

If you didn't do that, Homeland security may consider you driving a bomb around . LOL

Is your plow pump electric I take it????

If it is, then why is it under the hood. 2 options come to mind.

Find an electric lift pump/cylinder and mount it to the plow frame, the way they traditionally are. Or......

You can install a belt driven pump under the hood. That's the setup that I have and I love the fact it doesn't draw any extra charge from the batteries. The only down-side is that the plow moves slower at idle, but that seems to help keep me from ram-rodding around when I plow.

I like option two in your case since your drawing extra current for your alt fuel setup.

Also, check out an Interstate Battery center. The last time I was there getting my 7 year old batteries checked out, they told me that they had new battery cables in stock for my truck and they were wayyyy cheaper than buying stock cables.
