thinking about getting the viper 791, and my question is with the keypad on my door with it rend this basically useless or when I enter the code it can disable the alarm, incase I want to get in and do not have my key/alarm remote? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

The keypad will still be functional but will not disable the alarm - at least on mine.

Well you can make it usable, the downfall to utilizing the keypad with the alarm is if you where to use the lock/unlock button within the cab off the truck you'll alarm/disarm respectively.

So if you had your windows cracked or down, someone could disarm your truck by hitting the unlock button.

You can't disarm the 791 from anything but the remote. You can not make it work from the keypad. The keypad will still work no matter what though. BTW, I've installed them for ~ten years.
One thing you could do is keep a spare remote in the vehicle. When you enter using the keypad, the alarm will go off, and then you can disarm it using the spare remote. Just a thought.
