gut the exhaust bypass valve, remove the actuator rod from the pedestal and thread and plug it. might want to rebuild while it is off depending on miles and future mods. Mine lasted till 277k but it only lasted maybe 4k since i did my major mods, who knows 277k is alot for any turbo so it might have went either way. also remove the useless bracket off of the pedistal, it makes the install and removal a bit easier.

x2. You can just tap and plug the holes in the actuator if you don't have the skills to weld the casting. Thats what I did with mine. Also a good time to do the downpipe if you haven't. Bit more room to get the old one out. I suppose you could always change the fuel pump as some preventative maintenance too. The banjo bolt is hard to get at with the turbo in place.

Do a search on EBPV delete. The butterfly valve takes up a fair amount of space at the exit of the exhaust. Also the seals are somewhat prone to leaking. Removing the back pressure valve helps flow a bit better and removing/plugging the actuator rod eliminates the oil leak.

and it WILL start leaking if you remove it from the valve, it will.

Grind some of the webbing of the pedistal so if you ever need to change the fuel pump you can get your BIG wrench in there. If you still have your stock fuel filter cannister now is a good time to replace the blue fuel hoses too.

You could upgrade to a 1.0 turbine housing. Glad I did mine.
