i thought it was an ebpv problem but i took it on a test drive with the sensor unplugged but no change. heres the story. i dont like to post in forums unless i'm absolutely baffled by the problem so i'm sorry in advance if this is something thats been covered before but i couldnt find it if it was.

i just replaced glow plugs, gpr, one valve cover and uvc wiring harness. got that done last night.

so i get in today to take her for a spin and i have no power. it starts okay, idles okay, and revvs just fine but when i get on the road it seems like the turbo is not doing anything.

in really high rpms i can kind of hear the turbo but there is a serious loss of power. i cant keep speed up a small hill doing 60 with the pedal to the floor.

its really strange that this happened right after replacing the things i mentioned above but i'm almost ready to take it to the dealer. i really hate to do that but it might have to come down to it if i cant figure this out. if anyone knows anything that might help let me know.

thanks for any info

Did you check to see if the EBPV was stuck closed / Are your intake connections all tight ? Are all sensors connected ? Did you check for codes ?

did you loosen the intake clamps by mistake or knock the intake hose loose.
All it takes is a loose intake hose and you lost boost

okay i must have knocked the map sensor hose off of the intake tube... actually it broke there. i will be replacing the whole tube tomorrow when the auto parts store opens up.

would this cause the problem?

edit: wow after thinking about me above question for about half a second.. i have decided that i am no longer qualified to work on my own vehicle. i made myself a dunce had and as soon as i get done typing this i'm going to go sit in the corner. when i get out of the corner i will give ya'll a report on how the truck is running

Yes because the MAP ssensor tells the IDM via the PCM and CMP how much fuel to inject. Since OBS trucks control boost by defueling it is clear that if you cannot read boost you will have less fuel delivered and in turn less power . . .
