I bought 5 of the "Festoon" type bulbs [unfortunately from another source at a much higher price] :argh:
I paid about as much for 1 as they are selling a pair for. :yikes:

they are really bright and don't heat up. :thumbsup:

You only have to remember polarity is important; if they don't light up at first, flip it around. [guess how I found that out] :7:

Actually our festoon bulbs for the most part are bridge rectified, so getting polarity backwards is not really a possibility on those models.
