Some information for those of you that would like to have cruise, on your 2000-2003 7.3L E series van. Ford part# YC2Z-9A818-AB is a retrofit kit for adding cruise to diesel vans. It includes a new black leather steering wheel with buttons, a clock spring, and various wiring and switch hardware. Supposedly a complete kit with instructions. I saw the kit on ebay with a buy it now price of $119+$15 shipping. I ordered mine today. and will update this thread when I get, and install it. Link to seller follows, ebay store.

I have received the cruise upgrade kit. It didn't come with a leather wheel, but that's ok. The seller never advertised that it had a leather wheel, I got that information from another website, by googling the ford part number. The kit has a wheel, clock spring, brake pedal switch, wiring, and instructions. The installation is almost plug and play, some wiring has to be run through the firewall, and you have to cut and splice 2 wires. As far as fitting other model years, I can't say. You will have to do your own research on that. A friend of mine is going to buy one and try to install it on a 1997 ambulance. I will update this post as soon as I have installed the kit.

Thanks, perfect timing. I was looking at a kit from jc whitney, but this is cheaper and probably way better. How does the air bag come out to replace the steering wheel? I will admit, I haven't looked at it, but I envision the thing exploding in my face when I try to remove it. Keep us posted.

i put one in my van a few years back and has worked flawlessly.

i got the leather one for my van from ford...the only piece of luxury in my van other than a/c.
