Is there a hack or something to turn off the reverse senors when the trailer is attached? I have the integrated brake controller, so the truck knows when a trailer with brakes is connected. So why does it not disable the reverse senors?
Thanks,
Johnny

Only have to hit the button once until the key is cycled. Then do it again....

That's actually a reprogram. The factory setting is every time you go into reverse. If your under the 3/36 its free, if not its $100.

Hit button once only, until key is cycled.
That is the way it is on my 2005, it came that way from the factory.

Does that re-program apply to my 04? I took it to the dealer and was told they couldn't do it to my truck. True or not true??

I have had my previous 02 and present 04 reprogramed to off until next key cycle. Its my understanding that this was standard sometime in the 05 . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have to hit the button each time I shift back into reverse.

When I have a trailer, I make my wife hit the button as we jockey it into the driveway, camping spot etc.

There are two programming modes for the back up sensors, just like to auto door lock feature. The dealers had the ability to change between the two. It's simple and takes about 5 minutes.

I've done it for a number of people on this site who live by me in NJ.

This probably sounds stupid, but what button are you guys talking about. I've always thought there should be some way to turn the beeper off, but I've never found it.

You can also find the speaker and put a simple single pole switch in line with one of the wires to turn off the speaker. Coincidentally this also lights up the switch indicating its turned off. Great modification.

There should be a a button to thr right of the steering wheel around your right knee.

Mine starts working each time it is put into reverse, not when the key is cycled...

If you push the button to turn it off, it will NOT reset until the key is cycled---of course it will chime everytime, if you never hit the button.......Supercrew632
