I've had some customer inquiries lately for some 7.3L performance. I don't own one personally just work on them. I'd like to get some feed back on the different custom chips and the tunes accompanying them. Most of the customers I'm dealing with are looking for performance and econo tunes along with a high idle. Tune, intake, and exhaust kind of thing. Also What kind of digital monitors pair nicely with them? Just looking for some honest feedback on products you've used good or bad.

I have the hydra chip with PHP tune on it and i love it. Cant say for others i did not try it but Ts 6 pos whit custom tune (gearhead, tw, dp or php) is really good.

Intake if your on budget, 6637 mod is awesome if not S&B

For monitor IDK, i would use gauge

I use the DP - tuner F6 ( product and service is great), with various tunes , mainly use the 60 hp and 40 hp tow for economy .
Monitoring is done by gauges , but you can get combined units like DP's Infinity , Infinity - DP-Tuner TV

I'm good on the intake and exhaust options and have several options for each customers needs. I like gauges just fine and have them in my own pickup, but the digital monitors are so nice today and do so many things. Also I have to factor that I cannot sell gauges installed for the price I can a digital monitor like an edge insight due the labor involved.

ive got a 97 and just installed the ts 6 pos with the ts informant touch screen and it works great in fact its one of the best chips ive ever used i have the ts EGT probe as well and its so nice to be able to monitor everything from my ICP to well everything honestly it will even give you trouble codes if interested. the power gains are a feel it in your seat kind. i can run a 0-60 in stock at 16.8 seconds and in 150+hp im running a flat 13 seconds. the high idle is nice as well for warm ups on cold mornings. i love it.

There is also the option of the ScanGauge 11 which you can monitor four (4) pid's at the one time, i have this as well as gauges.

Edge cts is nice for gauges, Not expensive either

The dp infinity is really pricey.

Ts chips are the standard. Custom tunes of course from many different companies
