Looking to put rims on my truck. Its an 08 FX4 Diesel with 18" rims. I want to keep it stock here but i do not know the stock rim offset. Do any of you know what it is.

Also will -12mm Offset, and 4.5" Backspace stick out of my wheelwells and if so, how far?? I have purchased 275/70 R18 Cooper Discoverer S/T tires for this and i dont know if this offset is going to look stupid without having a 12.5 inch wide tire.

I believe the 18" stockers are 5.5" of BS and 8" wide. If you don't want the wheel/tires sticking out past the fender wells. Stick to a 5"-5.5" bs wheel. W/ 4.5" bs it will stick out roughly 2" past the fender well.

The width of the tire has no bearing on how far it goes past the fender well or a tucked look. It's in the wheel bs for placement & fit. Width of the wheel also has some play if you go too wide. Hitting the back rear bottom fender well at turning up front.

As you increase the offset, you increase the amount the tires will stick out from the fender, too much offset and you rub on the fenderliner, too much backspacing and you rub on the radius arms.

Thanks a lot here. I just ordered stock size cooper discoverer S/T`s and they will go on Hoss Gloss Black Rims XD Series. My truck is White with charcoal grey two tone so im not to sure if it is going to look OK. Well see.
Rim numbers are 18x9 8x170 18 Offset, 5.71" Backspace. They say they will fit right in there. They also gave me conformation in writing that they will take them back if there is any fit issue. Well see how it all comes out.

Fuel Question

i know you've probably already checked this out, but make sure you have the correct bolt pattern (8/170). I;m buying my next wheels cheap because the guy didn't make sure they were correct. just a heads up...

Hey i see that you have the fuel transfer tank in the bed. How do you feel about that? Does it go in easy and all that. Do you think its worth it to install. To be honest im not going to be doing any long haul trips but i would like to install one for winter to add extra weight to the bed. Also im sure it would not hurt resale later on down the road.
All and all i think it would be nice not to have to get out and fuel every 250 or so miles.
