What would cause my truck to start idling rough? I can feel it missing every 2-3 seconds. Once I get moving, the truck runs perfectly fine and still hauls but when I mash the loud pedal.

My early 99 did that because of leaky up pipe gaskets. Replaced them a few days ago and the idle has been rock solid ever since.

Sorry, but I'm not too familar with the PS. What is the up pipe and where is the gasket located?

I did notice on this last oil change that I had an excessive amount of blow by/oil residue on the outside of the Y-pipe inlet. I'm thinking its time to change the boots.

the exhaust up pipes are on the back of the engine.. they go from the manifolds to the turbo. They typically leak at the top where they join together right before they go into the turbo.
