I've just recently started having rough starts. I replaced the glow plugs about 3 months ago.. resistance to each checks out fine. I just replaced the GPR to a Stancor. It started nice after installing the GPR but seems to have regressed a little. I still have to crank it a while and when it starts it lopes for a few seconds before settling down. I'm running WVO in a heated system but I do know that there's still some WVO in the fuel system when I start up (not much). Does this sound like an injector problem?

I've run about 6500 miles on WVO. The rough start isn't always the case. Today started okay.. just loped alittle bit.. seems worse when it's cold. Don't know how many total miles on the injectors. The truck has 176000 miles. I bought it with about 168,000 on it.
If I upgrade do you have some custom injectors that can handle the oil?

Any of the injectors will handle it just need to keep them clean somehow. Its not that it wears the parts it just creates a build up on them.

I would say that your poppets are worn and may need some machine work. The rough cold start tips it off.

How do you keep them clean? I too, am considering switching to WVO, but don't want to foul anything up.

I would check the plugs going into the valve cover gaskets, I just put an injector in my PSD at 276k miles and found that the ends on the VC that had been in the truck since about 100k were melted on the glow plug wire, not letting them heat up, but the passenger side which was replaced about a year ago were just fine.
