Thanks everyone for the recommendation of Royal Purple 75W-140 gear lube. Bought four quarts at O'Reilly's.
Had a diesel certified Ford technician do the change as preventive maintenance, did several fast figure eights afterwards in a vacant parking lot and no chatter at all. No additive needed as stated on the bottom and on this forum.
Excellent product, IMO.
