I drove about 25 miles yesterday morning pulling my trailer with mower, ran perfect. After sitting for about two hours, started the truck, It started, but with a hard bump, kinda like a small explosion. Missing like it was running on 6 cylinders, and the farther I went the worse it got, kind of like running on 4 or 5 cylinders. A mile down the road, I stopped at a store, mainly to get off the highway, and killed it. When I went to start it, It started, but again seemed like running on very few cylinders, or like a gasoline engine that is very flooded. Got about 100 yards, and it wouldn't go any farther. Got it towed home.
Any ideas on where to start will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Errol

either a burnt wiring harness or a bad IPR, see if you can scan it, that will lead you in teh right direction.

Thanks Nit,
Just checked with shop, fuel pressure is low. They didn't say how low. So I am suspecting the IPR. They are considering the fuel pump, but when it went bad a few years ago, there was diesel in the valley. No valley fuel this time. Do they go bad without dumping fuel through the weep hole?

Thanks,
Errol

My fuel pump went bad twice already and both times there was fuel in the valley. The truck would kind of just die and then would not restart. Make sure to drain any water in the bowl, and smell for any burnt wires.

Just got another call from the shop, The fuel pump is pushing very little, if any, fuel to the fuel filter canister.
Sound like the Pump?
