Before joining this website I purchased what I thought were premium shocks and although the Rancho 9000s did give much imnproved handling and stability control their life expectancy wasn't very long as the 1-9 adjustment knobs stopped working after just over a year. the problem was the piston in the shock corroded and froze so the adjusting knob could not move it to change the degree of stiffness. Now I'm told that all 9000s have been recalled. Has anyone else heard this?? Finally, I've read a lot on Bilsteins and they appear to be a pretty good product, if you have them installed could you tell me how they perform with a heavy load such as a camper and of course how is the ride empty

The ride EMPTY is fine, firm but not STIFF...its quite
smooth actually.

w/ 1000 lbs of rock in the back the ride smoothed out
even more.
