Hey guys, I need some opinions on which exhaust to do on my 04. Either between MBRP 4" turbo back with nocat or muffler, or Diamond Eye 5" turbo back with no cat or muff. I know 5" is kind of overkill but im looking for mostly sound. I want it to be pretty loud. I have cat and muff deleted on my stock 3.5" now, and didnt know if 4" would be much if any louder than that. Any info will help. Thanks

It's been pretty well stated that exhaust typically makes your truck sound better. May help with egt's, little affect on hp. I don't particularly like the drone that a muffler delete sometimes causes (dosen't seem like a big deal but after a 5-600 mile day it gets a little tiring, the fight between my tinnitus and the exhaust note in the cab, then again I might just be getting old and cranky). I guess a cat delete is probably the best for lowering egt's (if it's sooted up much). As i remember if you double the diameter of a pipe you reduce its coeficient of resistance by 16 times. I wish I had the equation for that but it's been a few moons gone by since I had to use this for anything meaningful. I do know that is it is one of the reasons that it's better to use one big pipe vs two smaller ones. 5" may cause some clearance problems...or not.

I had a 3.5" crush bent straight pipe and it sounded horrible. loud yes, but, very...."slappy" you could say. dumped it for a silverline 4" turbo back duals with muffler delete and 5" tips and it sounds really good. I wouldnt change a thing.

What size dp? I'd say 4 in is all u need but we all know that it's about what we want. I personally would want a 5 in because I would rather hear a low throaty tone than a higher sound. It will help egts a bit but I like low sound. Also... Gas anyone ever tried a 6 in turbo back that would be interesting lol

I have the diamond eye 5" on my truck. It uses a 4" downpipe then all 5" from there. It hung to low and I had to relocate a few exhast mounts to make it fit. Not a fan of there system or there discaimer at the bottom of there instructions. I have banks 4" on my other truck and found it was way better quality.
