ive got a 99 f350 7.3 dually 85000 miles and ive got a guy who wants to buy it and im really thinking hard about selling it and getting a newer super duty....only thing is i dont want to get a truck that has problems and ive heard that the newer super duties have some problems. Ive had a few minor problems with my truck and im not sure i want to sell it just yet.....i dont need a big bad moster of a truck with tons of power.....i just need a truck thats reliable and can tow my toybox with my bikes to the desert and not break down.... i guess in a sense im kinda over the big lifted trucks i kind of just want a stock everyday driver ....anyones opinon and info is greatly appreciated.....thanks again guys

I'd think long and hard about letting an 85k truck go, particularly with a 7.3 in it. 6.0's have had a lot of problems and the 6.4's get little if any better mileage than a gasser. You've got a pretty bullet proof setup right now that can't really be replaced by anything newer. I'm keeping my 7.3's until the wheels fall off!

Plus, you've probably got yours paid for by now.

ya thats what ive heard ive heard that the 6.0s are headaches and the 7.3s are pretty much bullet proof i really love the truck and it is paid off ive had a few minor problems but nothing pertaining to the engine...except replacing my waterpump....im leaning towards not selling it and keeping it....i think my mind is playing games with me cause whenever i tow my toybox im nervous that im gonna brake something since the trucks lifted and im gonna be stranded....only real isues i have had is the tranny and the transfercase....i had the tranny rebuilt and replaced the transfercase...and want to get gears and a 6.0 cooler like everyone says i think youve helped me decide on keepin the truck...just need to put a few bucks into her and shell be exactly how i want her thanks!:thumbsup: any other ideas on what i can do to avoid any problems?

I have 3 OBS with 7.3 and would get another if right deal is found. These trucks are great and 7.3 is bullet proof and proven. You did the trans and t case so get better cooler and with those baby miles you have a real good truck. There is all the help you need on this site and with all these guys on here the problems that do arise are fixed

If you no longer need that kind of truck and can get a good price for it, sell it. My 2000 F-250 has 80,000 miles on it. The only reason I haven't sold it and bought a gasser is bcause it isn't worth very much.
