Yesterday while I was going to town I was gettin on it, and I hit rev limiter on my truck. Right as soon as I did, it blew a crap load of black smoke out the tailpipe. I was wondering if this is bad?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Does it run fine now? When it hits the limiter it cuts out fuel, so it couldn't be that it loaded up?

Is it running ok? I wouldn't worry about it...

Ya it runs fine, just kind of scared me. Just curious why it dumped a crap load of black smoke when it hit the limiter?

I had something like this happen when my map sensor saw more than 26 psi or so.

I can only guess at this. The rev limiter defuels, the boost drops, and then it fuels again with no or low boost. No boost (air) means lotsa smoke.

Was kinda thinking that, but at 3400 rpms, turbo lag is NON existent in my truck, hit the pedal and it is there. Dunno though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif
