I just bought this 2008 F250 with the 6.4 So far I have driven it 110 miles. I pulled it into the shop today to give it a good look over, change the oil, fuel filters. The truck is in amazing condition. No leaks, the body and interior are a 9 out of 10. The truck has 205k on it. Runs great! While I had it up in the air I discovered that the cat. and muffler had been deleted. Its running a straight 4 inch pipe all the way to the rear axle and then dumps. (that would explain the truck being a little louder than my last) I also realized while changing the oil that it had an egr delete kit installed. Now remember the truck runs great. It did however sit for 6 months before I bought it. It was behind a car lot pending paper work or something. Now my complaint is the truck rolls white smoke when at idle. I am going to keep an eye on the antifreeze level but was wondering if this could be the cause of the straight pipe or the delete? Its not a horrible amount but this is my third diesel truck and the only one to smoke at idle. Should I be worried? Would a muffler help at all reduce the smoke? Please advise. I own a shop but we don't do much diesel work, we are pretty much general repair on gas vehicles. But we do work my trucks to death with trailers and odd jobs. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks
