It sounds like you may have to add a little more gasoline to your blend. I typically add gas in one gallon increments until my engine performs normally. Yo will have to know how long it will take for the added gasoline to your fuel tank will make it to your engine. In my engine it takes about 10 minutes of driving for added gasoline to complete the circuit to the combustion chamber of my engine. However, a warm engine is going to respond differently to a cold engine, so you really won't know until you try starting your engine the next morning.

(I too am having smoke problems)

Lariat 7.3 - do you notice any difference when you change your chip settings. I am no expert, but I am thinking that you chip settings will (assumably among other things) advance your timing.

I am starting to think that (especially after wiping my finger inside the tailpipe and getting a coating of sticky black slime) that unburnt oil is building up, and that maybe advancing the timing will help? RSR said advancing the timing helps smoke on his IDI. DRMiller has a DP tune on his truck.

I guess I would like to know is getting a tune (or otherwise advancing timing) helps the smoke issue. I have nothing but stock.
